Due to open on 1st May 2020, Tanda Tula Rishilé Camp will be a luxury tented camp in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve! It’ll offer deluxe accommodation and a great range of activities.
Tanda Tula Rishilé Camp joins the Classic Collection portfolio, which is made up of an impressive variety of camps, lodges, and hotels across Safari Africa. Among the company’s successes is Tanda Tula, elder sibling of Rishilé. Tanda Tula is a firm favourite in the office, so we have high hopes for Rishilé! The accommodation will be booked on a full-board basis, including all meals, a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks, Wi-Fi in the communal areas, and a laundry service. The camp will be open throughout the year.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
The camp is situated in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, which is adjacent to the Timbavati reserve within the Greater Kruger National Park. It’ll be accessed via an hour’s road transfer from Hoedspruit Airport or 25 minutes’ drive from the Timbavati’s Rockfig airstrip.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT TANDA TULA RISHILÉ CAMP:
Guest accommodation will consist of just nine tents. Presently no images are available, but we know that each tent will be air conditioned, and other in-room amenities will include fans, mosquito nets, a mini-bar, a safe, and a hairdryer. The tents’ furnishings are likely to be similar to those at Tanda Tula, main camp – a double bed or twin beds, bedside stands and lighting, and a writing desk cum vanity table and chair. The en-suite facilities will feature indoor and outdoor showers, as well as a bathtub. It will be possible to add a maximum of two beds for children to a number of units, providing an excellent option for families. And every tent will boast a private deck! This should offer a couple of chairs, a table, and amazing views over Klaserie.
The communal spaces at Tanda Tula Rishilé Camp might also resemble the shared areas found at main camp. Comfortable lounge and dining areas could well be set up in timber-and-thatch buildings, with all interiors flowing out onto a viewing deck. As a guide to the spaces, the main camp’s lounge features well-cushioned seating around coffee tables, bookshelves, wildlife wall artwork, and even a couple of cosy fireplaces, while the dining area comprises a pleasant setting for delicious meals. We’re hopeful there will be a fire-pit, where guests will gather together come mornings and evenings to share safari stories! Finally, we know for sure that there will be a swimming pool.
ACTIVITIES AT TANDA TULA RISHILÉ CAMP:
Rishilé Camp will offer an exciting variety of activities, as follows:
Expertly guided game drives– These will take place during early morning and late afternoon into evening. As mentioned, the camp is situated next to the Timbavati, to the west of the Kruger National Park. The border between the Timbavati and Kruger regions is unfenced, allowing wildlife to pass easily through the entire area. Drive highlights will include all Big Five – lion, rhino, leopard, elephant, and buffalo – in addition to numerous smaller predators and herbivores, and ample birdlife!
Bush walks– Please note, this activity has a minimum age requirement of 14 years. Also enjoyed in the presence of knowledgeable and experienced guides, walks will provide thrilling opportunities to take a really close look at the smaller lives of the bush – the plants, insects, and birds.
Bush dining and sundowners– From bush breakfasts to riverbed picnic lunches to al fresco private dinners, Rishilé will specialise in adventurous dining. Guests will also be able to partake of sundowners, at a number of lovely viewpoints throughout the Klaserie reserve.
Stargazing– At the end of each safari-filled day, you’ll have a little time to marvel at the skies before heading to bed.
Children’s activities– No specific information has been made available yet, but we imagine things to do for kids will include family game drives and nature walks around camp. Please note, Rishilé will not offer a babysitting service.
*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
