When To Visit Sabi Sand Reserves:

Unparalleled luxury and spectacular game-viewing make Singita Boulders one of our favourite lodges in the Sabi Sands.

Boulders is one of the finest lodges in Africa. Singita is expensive, but we consider it is well worthwhile, both because of its extremely high quality, and the fact that there are only two lodges in the reserve – Boulders and Ebony – which guarantees a level of exclusivity and privacy that is unrivalled in the Sabi Sands.

Singita Boulders Lodge is located in the private Singita Reserve in the heart of South Africa's famous Sabi Sands.

Constructed from timber and stone, the main lodge is open-air and decorated with colourful fabrics, wildlife bronzes, folk art and tribal artefacts. A large decking area gives wonderful views over the river to the plains beyond. There is a dining room that serves delicious food, a well-stocked library, a TV room with Internet access, and a remarkable 12,000 bottle wine cellar! Service and general levels of hospitality are set exceptionally high.

The 12 suites are both spacious and stylish. Beautifully decorated with colourful textiles and African curios, they include a large living area complete with a rock fireplace, a beautiful bedroom and a sumptuous bathroom with both an inside and outside shower. They each have a large wooden deck outside, where guests can relax while watching wildlife crossing the plains, in between taking the occasional refreshing dip in their own heated swimming pool.

This reserve offers phenomenal big game viewing at any time of year, and is particularly famous for its leopard viewing. Not only are there two game drives a day, but walking safaris are available on request and mountain biking and archery are also possible. There is also a spa with a fully equipped gym.

A stay at Boulders links especially well with a few days at Singita Lebombo or Singita Sweni.
