Our couples safaris are undoubtedly the experience of a lifetime

Safari Holidays for Couples

The highest number of trips that we operate in Africa are tailor-made holidays for couples.

The vast majority of lodges we work with cater for couples above all other holiday types. There are a few camps which work best with groups, and there are many who have a heavy honeymoon focus, but the majority are well suited for couples of all ages.

It therefore becomes rather difficult to suggest specific holidays for couples! It is easy for us to keep couples away from family-focused camps, or camps which seem to be very popular with honeymooners, but from that point on virtually the whole of Africa is open to your trips.

So, instead of focusing you on certain camps, we would urge you to decide on the kind of couple safari holiday you want to go on:

Safari and Beach Holidays

If you want to go on safari but also travel to the beach then we would suggest looking at East Africa. Tanzania is especially good due to a diverse range of safari parks and its close proximity to the islands of the Zanzibar Archipelago, home to Africa’s most economical beach lodges. Tanzania also caters well for the first-timer and the safari enthusiast so there is a choice of safari for every kind of holiday maker. The beaches here are also better than in Kenya. Mozambique’s beaches are also well worth a look, but it is worth knowing that prices tend to rocket when linking in this country for your beach stop.

Luxury Couple Safari

If you are looking for the most luxurious safari in an authentic atmosphere then it has to be Botswana – but expect to pay Africa’s highest price tag! This country arguably offers the very best safari on the continent. If you want the luxury but are not so keen to pay such high prices, then South Africa and its famous Kruger Park may well be the place for you.

Adventurous Safari

For intrepid travellers looking to avoid the crowds, we would recommend Zambia. This country is famous for being off the beaten track – a country where safari is the focus as opposed to the hospitality experience and flamboyant luxury of some camps elsewhere.

Short Safari

For a short safari then South Africa and Namibia are the best options. The safaris in both countries is for the most part not considered as good as elsewhere (mainly for their lack of true wilderness and authenticity), but the large private game reserves of the Kruger and Namibia’s Etosha certainly link in well with city breaks and a whole range of other experiences.
