OVERVIEW:
Lebombo and its sister lodge Sweni are two of our favourite lodges in South Africa. Both are excellent, but if we had to choose one, we would probably opt for Lebombo; the decor is a little brighter and it is in a more dramatic setting than Sweni.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
Located in the Lebombo Concession area where the Kruger Park borders Mozambique, Singita Lebombo Lodge is the neighbouring sister property to Singita Sweni. Both are wonderfully remote and a complete contrast to busier areas like the Sabi Sands where many lodges border each other. The game viewing here is excellent. The lodge sits in a dramatic position on the edge of a cliff overlooking the N'wanetsi River below.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT SINGITA LEBOMBO LODGE:
It is a contemporary design and extremely luxurious. Its 15 suites are made almost entirely of glass and wood with amazing views. They are spacious, open plan, and feature an enormous bed and two showers – one inside and one outside. Large glass sliding doors open onto a deck where there is a comfortable daybed – on a fine night you can sleep outside under the stars.
The cuisine is first class and supported by a surprisingly large wine cellar. The service is reliable and discreet.
ACTIVITIES AT SINGITA LEBOMBO LODGE:
- There is a spa, a gym and a swimming pool where guests can while away the time between their morning and afternoon game drives.
- Not only are there morning and afternoon game drives, but walking safaris are also available. The guides will take you out on foot and use their tracking skills and extensive knowledge to show you animals, large and small, and also tell you fascinating facts about the insects and vegetation around you.
- Mountain bike riding is possible, as is archery! Yes, archery!
A stay at Lebombo links extremely well with a few days at a lodge in the Sabi Sands. We recommend combining it with one of the Londolozi properties, Singita Boulders, or Singita Ebony.
*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
