Kirkman’s is very special. This charming colonial homestead was originally built in the 1920s and has a unique style. Not only is this camp a lovely place to stay, but it is surprisingly reasonable in its pricing – in fact, we believe Kirkman’s to be one of the best-value camps in Sabi Sand.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
It lies in an absolutely stunning setting with rolling lawns and spectacular views of the surrounding wilderness, in the eastern area of Sabi Sand.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES:
With 18 air-conditioned adjoining suites, Kirkman’s is larger than the majority of camps in Sabi Sand, but that doesn’t really matter as it is so spacious, offering shady verandahs, a huge lawn and a superb pool, as well as a large communal area in the main camp itself.
The game viewing here is exceptional – the Reserve borders Kruger National Park it benefits from all the animals that wander by. This camp is particularly suitable for families with children. Some of the rangers are trained to interact with younger guests, teaching them the basics of tracking and involving them in bush activities such as collecting feathers, bugs and leaves.
