OVERVIEW:
It is very different from most other places to stay on the Garden Route as it has a definite character of its own. Originally built in the style of the safari lodge by a ‘great white hunter’ for his soon-to-be bride, Emily Moon, it has kept its safari roots in much of its decor. (Sadly, Emily never actually reached South Africa as she died on the voyage out from England.)
ACCESS & LOCATION:
Emily Moon is a small exclusive lodge 4 km from Plettenberg Bay looking down on the Bitou river below and across the marshlands to the Tsitsikamma Mountains in the background.
*Please be aware that we are unable to book this property for families with young children under the age of 6 years, for safety reasons relating to the balconies/decks/walkways.*
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT EMILY MOON RIVER LODGE:
Eight luxurious suites are scattered around the grounds, each with their own deck and a fabulous view. The restaurant is first-rate, and draws people from all around.
ACTIVITIES AT EMILY MOON RIVER LODGE:
There are two swimming pools, canoes to take out on the river below and mountain bikes to explore the area. There are some fabulous walks nearby and numerous sandy beaches to choose from.
