This Zambia honeymoon includes the main country safari highlights of Victoria Falls and the South Luangwa National Park. We focus on Robin Pope Safaris due to the sheer quality of their lodges and the added bonus of a good honeymoon discount.

This trip uses our favourite romantic lodges to guarantee a memorable honeymoon! It takes advantage of a 10 per cent long-stay discount across the Robin Pope Safaris portfolio. This means that you will enjoy a wonderful range of experiences, from truly sumptuous sunken baths at Luangwa River Camp to the authentic safari tents of Tena Tena!

The three properties we use for the trip are Stanley Safari Lodge, Luangwa River Camp, and Tena Tena Camp. Stanley’s is situated just 3 kilometres from Victoria Falls and boasts breathtaking views of the world’s largest waterfall! The luxurious Luangwa River Camp is where its name suggests – close to the river within the South Luangwa National Park. Finally, Tena Tena is located in the Nsefu sector of the South Luangwa – the first camp opened by Robin Pope, it offers the ultimate classic safari!

On the first day of your honeymoon, you will fly out to Livingstone and transfer the short distance by road to Stanley Safari Lodge. This property has a commanding position on a hill overlooking Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, and the views towards Victoria Falls are spectacular! The communal areas are open sided, so whether you are relaxing together or enjoying a romantic meal you can enjoy some astonishing scenery. The property’s Honeymoon Suite is open sided too – with a slightly larger bedroom than Stanley’s six standard cottages, it also has a cosy fireplace and a private plunge pool! Things to do here include classic safari activities as well as exploring Livingstone and experiencing all the fun of the Falls, making for an exciting start to your honeymoon.

Days 3-5

For the next part of your honeymoon, you will fly out to the South Luangwa National Park, to Luangwa River Camp. This is superb safari territory, inhabited by vast concentrations of big game and other wildlife. Nestling in the shade of ebony trees, the camp overlooks the Wafwa Oxbow Lagoon, which attracts a lot of thirsty animals! Rather unusually, the main lodge has the look of a Moroccan villa, with large red earth pillars and a couple of water features. All communal areas are spacious and sumptuous, as are the property’s five guest chalets. Individually decorated, each benefits from a private veranda and luxurious bathroom with sunken bathtub! Activities focus on game drives and walking safaris, and village visits are possible also. Honeymooners are very well looked after, with staff happy to arrange romantic dinners among other treats.

Board basis and activities:

Fully inclusive of all activities, meals, selected house alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, bottled water, borehole water, and a full laundry service.

Days 6-8

The final three nights of your honeymoon are spent at Tena Tena Camp, in the Nsefu sector of the South Luangwa. You will transfer by road from Luangwa River Camp – the drive is less than 20 kilometres, but the two properties are very far apart in terms of style! Whereas Luangwa River Camp has a lot in the way of deluxe décor, Tena Tena is a classic safari camp. Its main areas are mostly housed in a big mess tent, within the natural shelter provided by a grove of mahogany trees. The furniture is mainly wood framed, the long dining table is flanked by directors chairs, and the outdoor areas include an inviting little fire pit! There are just six guest tents, all spaced well apart for plenty of privacy. Featuring a couple of armchairs on the veranda and an open-air bathroom, the Honeymoon Tent provides a very pleasant base for enjoying time together in between activities. Tena Tena offers game drives, guided walks, and village tours.

Board basis and activities:

Full board – early breakfast, brunch, dinner, bottled water, soft drinks, selection of house alcoholic drinks. All activities are included, and there is a laundry service.

On Day 9, you will transfer to Mfuwe and fly to Lusaka for your international flight home.
