This 9-night safari adventure begins in Entebbe, where you’ll stay at Karibu Entebbe Guesthouse. Once you’ve rested from your initial journey into Uganda, you’ll then be whisked away to the remote reaches of Murchison Falls National Park to stay at Murchison River Lodge for four nights. Here there’s big game, home to plenty of elephant and lion, as well as buffalo, giraffe, hippos and crocs! After the glorious Falls, you’ll head back to Karibu Entebbe Guesthouse for a night before starting the next leg of your adventure as you head towards Bwindi’s Impenetrable Forest. Here you’ll stay for three nights at Mutanda Lake Resort for gorilla trekking and a host of other activities, both land and lake based, including volcano hikes, meeting the local Batwa people, golden monkeys, canoeing, kayaking and many beautiful boat trips to choose from!

So if you’re a group or a family, we might even suggest different accommodation. Days 1-2 ENTEBBE

Met on arrival off your international flight, you will be transferred to Karibu Entebbe Guesthouse for a first night acclimatising after your journey. The guesthouse is just 10 minutes from Entebbe International Airport, and is a welcoming boutique hotel set on the grounds of a former Presidential Residence no less! This is a chance to maybe have a few cocktails by the pool and rest up before your journey into the wild really begins! Lovely rooms, good food, delightful staff; it’s the perfect base from which to start your trip.

Days 2-6 MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast you’ll set off to Murchison Falls National Park to stay for four nights at Murchison River Lodge, which is situated on the southern bank of the River Nile overlooking Uganda’s largest national park. The lodge’s bar and restaurant have panoramic views of the park and the famous River Nile, with hippo pods and crocs being your nearest neighbours! There’s a pool, great food, and the rooms are lovely without being super deluxe. There is so much to do here - from big game safari drives, fishing, community walks, chimp trekking, excellent birding, and world class boat trips to the Falls themselves.

Days 6-7 ENTEBBE

You will be transferred back to Karibu Entebbe Guesthouse for a one night, your home base between the two separate parts of your safari adventure. They should know how you like your eggs already!

Days 7-10 BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

Bwindi Gorilla

The next day you will travel to Lake Mutanda Resort - a truly stunning place, with some of the best views in Africa set to the backdrop of the Virunga mountains. From here you will trek into the Impenetrable Forest to meet some of the last surviving mountain gorillas. The hike can be long or short depending on where the family is on the day, so be prepared for potentially a long day! But when you spend time with our ancestors, it’s one of the most rewarding things you can do. The lodge is charming, with comfortable wooden cottages and great food. The main focus of your trip here will be to gorilla trek, but there’s much more to do besides!
