Once you’ve landed into Cape Town, you’ll begin this trip to South Africa by staying at the well-located Four Rosemead Guest House for three nights. Privately owned and run, this boutique hotel is a bit of a favourite at YZ and has a lovely location in Oranjezicht, a serene suburb. Days 4–6 WINELANDS

the winelands, franschhoek, south africa

From Four Rosmead, you’ll head over to the nearby Winelands, and stay in the beautiful town of Franschhoek for two nights. Avondrood Guest House is your base here, a beautifully restored Victorian building that has a delightful setting on Huguenot Street. Once you’ve arrived, you can take a little time to relax in the comfortable communal areas, which include a large lounge, a well-stocked bar, a veranda, and gardens with a Jacuzzi and a swimming pool! Franschhoek’s shops, restaurants, bars, galleries, and museums are all close by, and if you’d like to explore farther afield you could consider a hike or a bike trip. However, the main thrill of the area is of course the wine! During your time here, you can hop onto one of the many lines of the wine trams to sample the fresh food and local produce that pairs so well or YZ can arrange for a privately guided tour of the Winelands (just let us know when you get in touch).
