This trip starts in the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara before moving to the Serengeti for the thrilling Great Migration river crossings! Lastly, you’ll fly out to the idyllic island of Zanzibar for a few days of blissful beach-time.

The first property you’ll visit is Isoitok, an authentic and intimate camp offering excellent access to both the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Lake Manyara National Park. After a couple of nights here, you’ll travel to Chaka Camp, a semi-permanent property that moves three times per year to follow the Great Migration! And the final part of your holiday will be spent at the superb Pongwe Beach Hotel, on the scenic east coast of Zanzibar.

While you’re at Isoitok, you’ll enjoy expertly guided game drives in the Ngorongoro Crater and around Lake Manyara! Both areas contain a real wealth of wildlife. The camp offers cultural experiences too, at extra cost. Chaka Camp also offers vehicle safaris, designed to provide a front-row seat to the Great Migration, Mother Nature’s most spectacular show. Once at Pongwe, you can spend all your time relaxing on the beach or get stuck into watersports, land sports, and even a few excursions around the island, such as to a local spice farm.

Days 1–2 NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA

On Day 1 of your trip, you’ll touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), receiving a VIP Meet and Greet. From here, you’ll fly to Lake Manyara Airport (50 mins), where you’ll be met by a private guide in a private safari vehicle. This guide, plus vehicle, will be available to you throughout your two days in the NCA, making for bespoke experiences of the region. On the way to Isoitok Camp, you’ll enjoy a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. This area, with its expanse of water and breathtaking Rift Valley backdrop, offers numerous wildlife highlights, not least its vast flocks of flamingo and its tree-climbing lions! Once at camp, you can take time to relax in the comfortable lounge and dining areas, all the while marvelling at lake views. You’ll stay in a deluxe tent, which features comfy double bed or twin beds, washroom with custom-made basin, and private veranda.

Come Day 2, you’ll head out for another game drive, this time in the Ngorongoro Crater. Here, you can look out for all of the Big Five, plenty of smaller mammals, and hundreds of types of bird!

Board basis and activities:
Full-board accommodation, including all meals. Isoitok provides a wide range of cultural experiences at extra cost, such as a Maasai medicine walk, Maasai boma visit, traditional goat sacrifice, and traditional song and dance. Viewpoint walks, bush lunches, and romantic meals for two also incur an additional charge.

Days 3–6 Serengeti National Park

On the third day, you’ll return to Lake Manyara Airport via private road transfer and fly to Kogatende Airstrip (1 hr 45 mins), before a shared transfer to Chaka Camp. This camp moves three times per year to keep up with the huge herds of the Great Migration! During the months from July to October, it’s based in the northern region of the Serengeti. There’s a pleasant lounge and dining tent, as well as a library, a bar, and a fire-pit. Guest accommodation comprises nine tents, all spacious and well equipped. The en-suite washroom features a classic bucket shower, and you’ll also have access to a private veranda, where you can relax and enjoy amazing views over the plains! The main activity is expertly guided game drives, which focus on following the herds as they move through the area in their search for food. One particular highlight is watching the famous Mara river crossings, when immense concentrations of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles hurtle through crocodile-filled waters. The North Serengeti boasts plenty of predators too, and ample birdlife.

Days 7–11 Zanzibar

Come Day 7, you’ll have a shared road transfer to Kogatende Airstrip and you’ll fly out to Zanzibar’s international airport (2 hrs 20 mins). From here, you’ll have a private transfer to Pongwe Beach Hotel. This property has a lovely location about halfway up Zanzibar’s palm-fringed east coast. A large timber-and-thatch structure houses its pleasant lounge, as well as its restaurant and bar. In the grounds of the hotel there’s an infinity pool, close to the beach. You’ll spend four nights in a beachfront room, enjoying a comfy bedroom, smart shower room, and shady veranda with gorgeous ocean vistas! Days are spent relaxing on the beach or, if you feel like it, getting active with all sorts of watersports and land sports. Fishing can also be arranged, as can an exciting variety of excursions.

Board basis and activities:
Half-board accommodation, including breakfast and dinner. Activities at an additional cost include scuba diving, snorkelling, day trips to Stone Town, and visiting a spice farm and Jozani Forest.

On the last day of your trip, you’ll return to Zanzibar’s international airport via private transfer, in time for your flight/s home.
