Your adventure begins in Nairobi, for a night at Crowne Plaza Nairobi. This deluxe hotel is situated a short distance from the city’s international airport, so it’s mighty convenient for stopovers! On your second day, you’ll travel to Tortilis Camp, a high-quality option located within its own concession just outside Amboseli National Park. Next up is Sand River Masai Mara, a truly sumptuous 1920s-style camp with a lovely riverside setting. And finally, you’ll head to Elephant Pepper in the Mara North Conservancy, a classic camp with a lot of character!

Crowne Plaza has everything you need for a quick break before your safari starts in earnest, including a spa and a swimming pool. Activities available from Tortilis Camp consist of expertly guided game drives and walks, cultural experiences, and some fabulous bush dining! Sand River also offers vehicle safaris, as well as hot air balloon safaris at extra cost, while Elephant Pepper specialises in drives, walks, horse safaris, and cultural visits. Day 1 Nairobi

On Day 1 of your trip, you’ll touch down at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, receiving a VIP Meet and Greet. From here, it’s a very short private transfer to Crowne Plaza Nairobi, where you’ll spend just one night. The hotel is perfect for stopovers, offering plush lounges, high-quality restaurants and bars, a rooftop gym, Euphoria Spa, and a swimming pool! Your sleeping quarters will comprise the Superior Room option, which includes amenities such as air conditioning, satellite television, mini-bar, and smart en-suite washroom. There’s also complimentary Wi-Fi.

Days 2–4 Amboseli National Park

On the second day, you’ll transfer privately from Crowne Plaza to Wilson Airport and fly out to Amboseli Airport (40 mins) before your shared road transfer to Tortilis Camp. This property is located amidst woodland just outside the south-western border of the national park, and it boasts a spectacular backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro! Its communal lounge and dining areas occupy a classic timber, stone, and thatch lodge, with amazing views. Spa treatments can be arranged, and there’s also a fire-pit and a swimming pool. You’ll stay in one of the camp’s safari tents, enjoying a comfortable bedroom, well-appointed shower room, and private veranda. In keeping with its design, Tortilis offers classic safari activities. The area’s wildlife highlights include four of the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo – and elephant populations are particularly impressive. Amboseli is also home to numerous smaller mammals and lots of birdlife. Other things to do include taking a trip to a local homestead and indulging in some hearty bush dining!

Days 5-7 Maasai Mara National Reserve

After your time at Tortilis, you’ll return to Amboseli Airport via shared road transfer and fly back to Wilson Airport (45 mins). From here, you’ll fly to Keekerok Airport (1 hr) before your shared transfer to Elewana’s Sand River Masai Mara. This is a very elegant 1920s-style property beside the river, spread out across two sites. Each site has a mess tent with a plush lounge, chic dining spaces, and breathtaking views! The larger site boasts a plunge pool and a billiards room too. The 1920s theme continues into the guest accommodation, with each tent featuring a gorgeous four-poster bed, leather-and-brocade seating, and Persian rugs. Game drives into the Maasai Mara are available every day, to see an incredible wealth of wildlife. If you are here from July to October, you might well witness the famous Great Migration, when hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles thunder through the area in search of good grazing! If you’d like to see all this from the air, the camp can organise hot air balloon safaris at an additional charge. Cultural experiences, also at extra cost, are available too.

Days 8-10 Maasai Mara National Reserve

For the final part of your holiday, you’ll transfer privately from Sand River to Elephant Pepper Camp. Set up within a small patch of forest on the plains of Mara North, this small tented property has a classic safari feel and a very good reputation! The main areas are homely, with their comfy sofas and superb views. Plenty of al fresco relaxing and dining is available too. Each of the eight standard tents here is simple, but with everything you need to enjoy your last few days on safari. Activities from Elephant Pepper centre on game drives, with short walks available also. Horse safaris and cultural visits are offered at extra cost. And as with Sand River, it’s possible to follow the Great Migration from July to October! But even outside these months, the plains are popular with herbivores such as giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, and antelopes, making for ample predator sightings. There are hundreds of birds as well.
