When To Visit South Luangwa National Park:

Kuyenda Bush Camp is well known for its homely hospitality and is usually run by Babette and Phil.

This bush camp is one of the most rustic of its kind in the area, but it is well known for its amazing wildlife sightings. The camp usually likes to take six guests at a time yet can take a group of eight if need be.

Located an hour South of Mfuwe Lodge, Kuyenda is the first of the bush camps in the southern sector of the South Luangwa National Park.

The lodge is rebuilt each season with four rooms. All are simple thatch-and-reed rondavels with en-suite bathrooms and bucket showers. The fronts of the rooms are open, to give you panoramic views of the grass plains, and the beds are covered by mosquito netting. The main area consists of simple lounge and dining spaces with a delightfully unpretentious but well-stocked bar.

  • The camp is open from June until November.
  • The main activity at the camp is walking, through some of the most spectacular scenery around Kuyenda.
  • Guests can also enjoy morning and afternoon game drives.
