“This is our top place to stay in Nairobi. A stunningly crafted boutique hotel with minute attention to detail, wonderful service, elegant rooms, and the best coffee we have ever had anywhere in the world!”

Formerly called OneFortyEight, Eden Nairobi is a trendy boutique hotel situated in Langata, a pleasant suburb of Nairobi in the city’s south-west region. We recommend this hotel both for stopovers and for longer stays. Close to Nairobi National Park and the Giraffe Sanctuary, it’s particularly popular with wildlife fans! Accommodation is booked on a B&B basis, with something to suit most types of traveller. Guests have the option of booking the hotel’s main house or its studio for exclusive use.

Eden Nairobi is situated in the south-western region of Nairobi, within the quiet suburb of Langata. The hotel is usually accessed via road transfer from Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, a distance of approximately 20 kilometres.

Set in four acres of forested grounds, in which the resident guineafowls, peacocks, and sacred ibises roam, Eden’s main house has a homely timber frontage, while the studio building features large glass windows that let in plenty of light. Within the main house, there’s a spacious communal drawing room containing comfortable sofas, a huge coffee table, a cosy fireplace, and some intriguing artefacts and artworks. This space flows out onto the main house veranda, perfect for relaxing and enjoying views of the gardens. It is not unusual for guests to spot monkeys, warthogs, parrots, and peacocks amidst the trees, and to hear the occasional lion’s roar from the nearby national park!

Guest accommodation at Eden Nairobi consists of three bedrooms within the main house, two en-suite bedrooms in Tonio’s Studio, and three separate studio lofts. Each room at Eden is individually designed and decorated, with views of the grounds.

Main House: The three main house rooms comprise a master bedroom with super-king bed, and two king-size rooms. All rooms are beautifully furnished. The master bedroom includes a private veranda and a well-appointed en-suite bathroom with bathtub as well as separate shower. Lana & Tacha’s Room features a big bathtub with shower over, while Stas’ Room has a separate en-suite bathroom with a large rainfall shower.

Tonio’s Studio: All accommodation in the studio building is equally well appointed. Three studio lofts are double storeyed – each boasts a king-size bed and wet room on the lower level, and a lovely living area with treetop views above. And a further two units have a comfy king-size bedroom, good views, and en-suite bath and shower.

Eden Nairobi offers a complimentary breakfast hamper, which can be enjoyed within the comfort of the guest rooms or ordered to take away. Guests can book lunch and dinner at Eden’s main restaurant and bar, The Deck, which has an à la carte menu and a set menu too. All fruit and vegetables are sourced from local farmer’s markets or from the owner’s own kitchen garden. There’s also the option of private dining or booking the ‘Chef’s Table’ to enjoy a live cooking experience (subject to availability).

Once you have settled in at this smart hotel, you can start planning your time in Nairobi. Eden’s front desk staff members are happy to help with this.
