Dune Lodge is the largest of the three Wolwedans properties, and has one of the finest locations on top of a dune field. Views are 360 degrees here, spectacular in all directions.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
Wolwedans Dune Lodge is located in a private reserve of 2,100km sq in the Namib Desert, southern Namibia.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES:
The camp has a swimming pool as well as a large communal area overlooking a water hole. It is a very well-maintained camp that is one of the finest eco-sensitive camps in Africa. Even though Dune Lodge is the largest camp in the reserve, there are just nine wooden chalets here, each with its own en-suite and outside decking platform. They are some of the most finely built rooms we have seen anywhere – an absolute master-class in desert lodge design.
Activities at all three Wolwedans camps are based around exploring the private reserve by vehicle and also on foot. The area also offers the best game drives in the region, though even this area is not comparable to the likes of Etosha.
