"Here it's all about the romance... and as the name suggests it's a little camp offering intimate rooms that are exquisitely decorated. This lodge is all about the little details that make your stay extra special and memorable."

OVERVIEW:

Sabi Sabi Little Bush Camp is one of four properties situated within the Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve. This collection has three themes – Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow – and Little Bush is a Today property, with a contemporary feel. The camp has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor! Accommodation is booked on a full-board basis, including all meals, a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks, vehicle and walking safaris, transfers between the camp and Sabi Sabi Airstrip, and Wi-Fi. The camp can be booked for exclusive use, and it’s open all year round. Children of all ages are welcome when the camp is booked for exclusive use.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

The camp is usually accessed via road transfer from Sabi Sabi Airstrip. It has a very pleasant location amidst trees on the banks of the seasonal Msuthlu river, within the private reserve.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT SABI SABI LITTLE BUSH CAMP:

Guest accommodation consists of just six suites, spaced well apart on either side of the communal lodge building. Each is housed within a timber, stone, thatch, and glass structure, merging seamlessly into the natural surrounds. Inside, there’s a spacious bedroom, with double bed or twin beds with mosquito netting, bedside tables and lighting, a separate seating area, and a vanity table and chair. Additional amenities include air conditioning, fans, tea-and-coffee station, mini-bar, safe, and hairdryer. The en-suite facilities comprise flush toilet, twin washbasins with mirrors over, step-up shower, and freestanding bathtub. Every suite has a private veranda too, which boasts a heated spa bath and amazing views! In keeping with its Today theme, the accommodation has a modern flavor, featuring a neutral palette with a few zigzags of color, as well as its super-sleek bathroom.

Each guest suite links to the communal lodge at Little Bush Camp via neat pathways through the trees. The lodge is another timber, stone, thatch, and glass build, on a larger scale. Its décor is also very contemporary, and its lounge and dining areas are open-plan. In the lounge space, well-cushioned sofas and armchairs are set up around coffee and occasional tables, some made out of tree trunks. There’s also a cozy fireplace and an assortment of indoor plants, complementing the forest location. The dining area contains chic individual tables and smart upright chairs, set out on polished wooden floors and under twinkling chandeliers. Little Bush’s well-stocked bar adjoins this space, with its line of stylish barstools. Guests can also tuck in to delicious food and drink on the lodge’s viewing decks and in its traditional boma. The boutique sells both curios and essential items, and you can take a trip to Amani Spa at either Bush Lodge or Earth Lodge to enjoy a range of massages and other pampering treatments. Finally, Little Bush has its own swimming pool, with relaxing sunloungers alongside!

ACTIVITIES AT SABI SABI LITTLE BUSH CAMP:

The camp offers an exciting variety of activities, focused primarily on exploring the private reserve and viewing its wealth of wildlife.

  • Sabi Sabi features savanna, woodland, forest, and water sources, not least the famous Sabi river itself.
  • Among the wildlife highlights here are all Big Five – lion, rhino, leopard, elephant, and buffalo.
  • Smaller predators include cheetah, hyenas, jackals, serval, civet, honey badger, and the rare wild dog.
  • There are plenty of herbivores too, such as giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, and all sorts of antelopes!
  • At last count, almost 350 species of bird were recorded, including the Big Six – martial eagle, lappet-faced vulture, Pel’s fishing owl, saddle-billed stork, southern ground hornbill, and Kori bustard.
  • You can enjoy looking out for all of these species and more on expertly guided game drives, walking safaris, and special birding excursions.
  • Photographic safaris are also available, on request.
  • Anyone interested in culture will appreciate opportunities to visit local Shangaan villages and take part in fascinating tours involving homes, schools, and care centers – and musical performances are often enjoyed in camp.
  • And you can end each exhilarating day with some stargazing, either in the boma or from the sublime comfort of your own spa bath!

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
