Your solo adventure begins at Arusha’s charming Rivertrees Country Inn. Situated just outside the bustling town, it offers a serene stopover on your itinerary. Next up is Lemala Mpingo Ridge Lodge, an adventurous property with a well-elevated location within Tarangire. After two nights there, you’ll continue on to Lemala Ewanjan Tented Camp, in the Central Serengeti’s wildlife-rich Seronera valley. And finally you’ll fly out to the fabulous Pongwe Beach Hotel on Zanzibar!

Rivertrees has a first-class restaurant, massage hut, and swimming pool, so you can enjoy plenty of rest and relaxation before beginning your safari time. At Mpingo Ridge, expertly guided game drives and walks are available. Ewanjan provides vehicle safaris too, and throughout June there’s a focus on seeing the famous Great Migration. Days 1 Arusha

On Day 1 of your trip, you’ll touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport, receiving a VIP Meet and Greet. From here, you’ll travel to Rivertrees Country Inn via private road transfer. Rivertrees is an excellent option for a stopover before your safari begins in earnest. In addition to its restaurant, massage hut, and pool, the inn has a very pleasant lounge and bar. Additionally, it’s set in gorgeous gardens, which are ideal for a gentle stroll. You’ll stay in a garden room, which features a comfortable bedroom, a separate seating area with cosy fireplace, well-appointed en-suite facilities, and a covered veranda with garden views.

Days 2-3 TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Following your stopover in Arusha, a private guide will drive you to Lemala Mpingo Ridge in a private vehicle. Both guide and vehicle will be available to you throughout your stay in Tarangire, making for highly exclusive experiences of this remote national park. Occupying a lofty position, Lemala’s Mpingo Ridge Lodge boasts amazing views from its lounge and dining areas. The property also has a shop, spa, and plunge pool! There are 15 tented suites, each with a pleasantly furnished bedroom, smart en-suite washroom, and private lounge deck complete with bathtub. Activities here focus on vehicle and walking safaris. Tarangire’s wildlife highlights include four of the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo – as well as numerous smaller predators and herbivores, and hundreds of species of bird!

Days 4-7 Serengeti National Park

On the fourth day of your adventure, your private guide will drive you from Lemala Mpingo Ridge Lodge to Kuro Airstrip and you’ll fly to Seronera Airstrip in the Serengeti. Once you’ve landed, you’ll have a shared road transfer to Lemala’s Ewanjan Tented Camp. This property has a great mess tent, in which you’ll find roomy lounge and dining areas separated by a well-stocked bar! It has a fire-pit too, where guests gather for pre-dinner drinks and safari stories. Ewanjan has 12 canvas tents with wooden floors, all rigged up on a hillside overlooking the Seronera valley. Each tent features a separate seating area, a lockable trunk, and a bucket shower with hot water provided whenever you need it. From this comfy base, you can head out on expertly guided game drives. This area of the Serengeti is home to all Big Five, cheetah, hyenas, jackals, wild dog, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, various antelopes, hippo, and hundreds of birds! And as the Great Migration is likely to pass through during June, you’ll have the opportunity to marvel at huge herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles.

Days 8-12 Zanzibar

Come Day 8, it’s time for your beach break! You’ll return to Seronera Airstrip and fly out to the international airport on Zanzibar, before transferring by road to Pongwe Beach Hotel. Your accommodation here will be a seafront room. Each room is found in a lovely white-wash thatch-roof cottage, decorated in an authentic Zanzibari style. There’s a homely seating area, a well-equipped shower room, and a shady veranda with spectacular ocean views! Pongwe’s lounge, restaurant, and bar occupy a large timber-and-thatch structure amidst palm trees adjacent to the beach. There’s a very inviting infinity pool near the beach too, so you could spend a lot of time simply sunbathing and swimming. However, if you’re feeling energetic, the hotel offers snorkelling, kayaking, paddleboarding, mountain biking, and much more! And if you feel like exploring the island, staff are happy to arrange excursions to attractions such as Stone Town, Jozani Forest, and the turtle sanctuary at Nungwi.

On the last day of your vacation, you’ll fly from Zanzibar’s international airport to Julius Nyerere International Airport at Dar es Salaam, in time for your flight/s home.
