  • The focus is moving away from the 'typical safari' experience towards the raw and untamed nature of safari
  • Unique camp designed to be an extension to the natural surroundings and all about the activities – in-action-conservation, day and night game drives, walking safaris, boating and canoeing safaris
  • Best from July through to the end of October

Days 1-5 LOWER ZAMBEZI NATIONAL PARK

leopard yawning, true zambia experience trip

Kutali Camp is owned and run by safari guides Kyle and Luke. Between them, they have bags of experience and a passion for the wilderness experience that cannot be matched! The camp consists of a maximum of five tents. Each offers 4 by 4 meters’ floor space and sufficient height for you to stand. Every tent has drop-down sides, which can be raised during daylight hours to air, and lowered for cold nights, or when you need a little privacy. But the sides are essentially just net walls, providing an unobstructed 270-degrees view of the bush at all times of day and night! We know of no other company that offers this style of accommodation. Spend a couple of nights here before Musekese, and you'll have some fantastic stories to take home with you, not least wildlife spotting from a canoe, walking with elephants, and going on sunset cruises.

Days 5-9 KAFUE NATIONAL PARK

elephant, true zambia experience trip

Next, you will head by road to Musekese Camp. The story behind Musekese is a long history of conservation and the pioneering spirit of two men, all within this very remote area in Zambia’s Kafue National Park. Set up by Phil Jeffery and Tyrone McKeith, Musekese is rustic, off the beaten track, and in a fascinating game-viewing area. You won’t find a camp with more character and run with more passion than Musekese. For the perfect adventure safari, there is no doubt that you have to include a stay at Musekese! This camp overlooks a lagoon that attracts a lot of wildlife. Guest accommodation consists of just four traditional chalets, featuring snug beds and lovely local furnishings. Every chalet has en-suite facilities including a flush toilet, washbasin, and bucket shower. Activities from Musekese include morning and evening game drives, walking safaris, boating safaris, viewing from the camp’s hides, and special birding walks. There’s loads to see in Kafue – lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, lots of different antelopes, and legendary smaller species such as honey badger, side-striped jackal, and the charming pangolin.
