We rarely book this camp as we believe there are many other tented camps which offer a better all-round safari experience and much better guiding. However, if clients do wish to come here, this is best booked as part of a Serena Hotel circuit as one gets lower rates.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
The camp looks out over acacia groves towards the hills and plains of the Serengeti's western corridor.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES:
This camp is extremely comfortable, yet it somehow lacks the authenticity of many other tented camps. The sixteen canvas guest tents are built on raised wooden decking and have sweeping views of the surrounding plains. They share a central meeting area which is beautifully furnished with antiques in a colonial style. There is a fantastic wooden deck outside where guests can sit and look out for any passing wildlife.
The game-viewing is good from May to June when the Great Migration passes close by, but the camp is a bit of a backwater through the rest of the year.
