Undeniably excellent quality, Klein’s deserves its place among the Park’s finest hotels as service and accommodation is set at a very high level.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
Klein’s Camp is just under a two-hour flight from Arusha. Occasionally guests drive into camp, but due to the prices charged to stay here, most clients are on flying safaris coming in from neighbouring Ngorongoro (60 minutes) and Lake Manyara (90 minutes).
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES:
The ten beautiful thatched cottages are maintained to a very high standard, complete with four-poster beds and luxurious ensuites. Each room has a balcony area with comfy chairs from which you can soak up the fabulous views. The rooms offer privacy and are fitted out to the highest standards.
The main dining area is set back from the bar area, which has arguably the camp’s finest views. A log fire burns every night in the middle of the bar. Service levels are among the highest in the country – unobtrusive butler service is standard when staying here!
Morning and afternoon game drives take place in open-sided vehicles, usually taking a maximum of six passengers. Night safari, as well as very good walking, is also possible. Game drives will go into the Serengeti itself on request, and cultural trips to the nearby villages are possible to arrange at extra cost.
Coming to Klein’s out of season will miss the herds, meaning you rely on the good but not brilliant resident game – defeating the real point of coming to the Serengeti, in our opinion! However, if you design your trip to include a migrational camp and then come to relax in the luxury of Klein’s afterwards, the lodge is superb at any time of year.
