OVERVIEW:
Both chic and homely, the farmhouse features splashes of colour amid a neutral palette and some lovely wildlife pictures on the walls. Fabulous for a group of friends or a family, it sleeps a minimum of four and a maximum of eight persons, and its facilities include a private boat! In common with sister property Waterberry Lodge, it isn’t super-luxurious, but it’s a very pleasant base from which to explore the area. All farmhouse guests are welcome to use the communal facilities at the neighbouring lodge. Accommodation at The River Farmhouse is booked on a full-board basis, including all meals, a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks, morning and afternoon in-house activities, airport transfers, and a laundry service.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
The farmhouse is accessed via approximately 35 minutes’ drive from Livingstone Town. It’s situated a short distance from Waterberry Lodge, on the Zambezi riverbank approximately 22km upstream from the spectacular Victoria Falls.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT THE RIVER FARMHOUSE:
Surrounded by trees and gardens, the farmhouse has an elegant design and fits in well with the natural environment. Its living/dining areas are roomy and open plan, incorporating an open fireplace, a large wooden table and upright chairs for communal meals, and large leather sofas with coffee tables positioned for guests to enjoy amazing views out to the grounds and the Zambezi river beyond! River views can also be appreciated from the spacious terrace, which has plenty of comfy seating and a dining table for al fresco meals. The grounds contain a fire-pit and an infinity pool – the pool is perfect for cooling off when the temperatures soar!
There are four bedrooms at the farmhouse – two doubles and two twins. The doubles have better views, as they face the river, but all accommodation is comfortable and nicely styled in the same way as the main areas. The rooms are named for the points of the compass. South and East (doubles) have French windows onto the terrace and en-suite facilities consisting of flush toilet, washbasin, and bath with shower attachment. North and West (twins) have garden views and en-suite facilities of flush toilet, washbasin, and shower cubicle. Every bedroom has a ceiling fan, mosquito nets, and air conditioning.
