Recent travel experience
Yellow Zebra recently sent Mia on her first safari to Tanzania. She spent some time in the Ngorongoro Crater, staying at The Highlands and Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. Activities she enjoyed here included climbing the Olmoti Crater, visiting the locals, and going on her first game drive. She also experienced a more traditional safari, camping with Alex Walker’s Serian Serengeti South. This involved bush breakfasts, off-road game drives, and getting the chance to drive the Serian vehicle herself! Mia ended her trip in the south-west sector of the park, at Mwiba Lodge. Here, she indulged in a sundowner and a morning game drive, all whilst trying to keep those pesky vervets out of her room!.
Mia's most memorable experience
“My first game drive was with The Highlands in the Ngorongoro Crater. As we travelled in March, the crater was practically empty. The grass was so green, it was the brightest and most colourful place I have ever set my eyes on. My most memorable experience was when our driver spotted two elephants in the distance, parked our vehicle, turned the engine off, and told us to keep quiet. I thought we were just watching them in the distance until eventually the two elephants crossed our path, in practically arm-reaching distance, and wrapped their trunks around each other in a loving embrace.”
Mia's biography
With a Scottish and English background, Mia spent most of her childhood going to school in Surrey and travelling up to Scotland with her father to see family during the half-terms and holidays.
Mia’s awareness of her very British background instilled in her the desire to see the world and begin her studies in travel and tourism. She soon discovered that her passion lay within the creative side of technology, which pushed her to carry out a Level 3 Digital Marketing apprenticeship through a small start-up travel agency that specialises in organising events across Europe. Since then Mia has completed a Level 6 Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing, grown an Instagram to 52k followers, and visited some popular places such as Canada, Alaska, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Croatia, New York, and now Tanzania!
