Ingwe Pan Camp is an exciting option for travellers considering a classic safari in Mana Pools! Ingwe Pan Camp is the latest property to join the portfolio of Machaba Safaris. We love all the other Machaba properties, and we’re confident this will be another great addition! The minimum age requirement will be 6 years, but all ages will be welcome when the camp is booked for exclusive use. The price of your stay will include all meals, a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks, all activities, transfers between camp and Mana Main Airstrip, and a laundry service. The camp will be open from 1st May to 15th November every year.
Access & location:
The camp will be accessed via 20 minutes’ road transfer from Mana Main Airstrip. The site comprises a secluded pan surrounded by ebony trees, within the wilderness area of Mana Pools.
Accommodation & facilities at Ingwe Pan Camp:
Guest accommodation will consist of eight tents. Positioned amidst trees on the edge of the pan, these are linked along natural walkways. All will have interiors described as spacious and elegantly furnished, and either a double bedroom or twin bedroom will be available on request. The en-suite facilities will feature twin washbasins and both inside and outside showers. Machaba Safaris advises that showering under the stars will be a particularly unmissable experience, as no other light will be in sight! And all tents will boast beautiful views over the pan.
The communal facilities at Ingwe Pan Camp will include an open-plan lounge and an outside dining area. Based on our experiences of other Machaba properties, we reckon the lounge will be very comfortable. The dining area will be perfect for tucking into delicious food and drink, while watching wildlife come to drink or bathe at the pan. Come late afternoon, you might even see an elusive leopard! There will also be a lovely picnic or sundowner spot just a short distance from camp – a big old baobab that guests will relax around in between adventures in Mana Pools.
Activities at Ingwe Pan Camp:
Ingwe Pan Camp will offer classic safari activities, as follows:
Wildlife-rich walking safaris- Walking will be the main activity from camp, with guests becoming very well acquainted with the area around the pan as well as the Mana floodplain, all in the company of knowledgeable and experienced guides. Among mopani woods, albida forests, and verdant wetlands, you’ll observe plants, insects, bird, and mammals alike! Mammals in residence include lion, leopard, hyena, zebra, kudu, and impala, while the impressive bird count features Arnot’s chat and broad-billed roller. You’ll also head down to the mighty Zambezi river for early morning tea or afternoon sundowners.
Guided game drives- Also enjoyed in the presence of expert guides, drives will be available during the morning and afternoon. They’ll provide opportunities to cover a lot of ground within the national park, and to observe a thrilling assortment of wildlife species!
Fishing- Guests will also be invited to fish from the banks of the Zambezi or from aboard a canoe, both a great add-on to your classic walking and vehicle safaris.
