The key at this price bracket is still to stay in the mobile camps to maximise game viewing. As mentioned in the value bracket, the camps are much more comfortable than you might expect – some have four-poster beds etc ! Here is my pick of the best mobiles:
Your budget lets you cherry-pick from the best. I’ll start with Lemala Ndutu – the first of the luxury mobiles. Lemala are a company whose reputation seems to be growing year on year; it’s a great option for clients looking for a luxury mobile camp at an affordable price.
Step up a level in price and the Serengeti Safari Camp is the first and arguably the best of the mobile camps. Nomad Tanzania run this camp – a company known for owning some of the finest authentic product in Africa. The guiding here is superb whilst a high quality, authentic experience is the companies focus. I cannot speak of them highly enough and with the four nights for the price of three its seriously good value for a camp of this quality.
The final tented camp I’m going to suggest to you is Alex Walker’s Serian Serengeti. Alex is one of Africa’s most famous guides and his camps ‘Serian Kusini and Serian Serengeti South’ are nothing short of exceptional. Costing approximately $300pppn more than Serengeti Safari Camp there is another four for three offer at the time of year you are traveling...making an expensive property very good value for money. Private vehicles are guaranteed (the main difference between this camp, SSC and Lemala) as is some of the best food and guiding in the country. Alex often hosts in camp, a rarity in itself, and has a team of guides that have won a number of industry awards.
