Perched on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, Sanctuary’s new Ngorongoro Crater Camp is one of the only luxury tented camp options on the Crater rim.

OVERVIEW:
Perfect for people who want to avoid the large hotels elsewhere on the Crater rim, Ngorongoro Crater Camp is an interesting choice simply because there is a very little competition of this type in such a good location!

ACCESS & LOCATION:
Close to the access road that leads to the Crater floor, Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp is located in the rim valley of the Crater.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES:
The camp itself is made up of 10 luxury private safari tents with en-suite facilities including an indoor bucket shower and viewing area in front of each ‘room’. It is a wonderful tented camp that’s designed to be the perfect balance between luxury and adventure.

Another nice touch is the fact that with three communal areas, guests can relax and admire the stunning views over the Ngorongoro Crater floor below. With a number of private dining areas spread around camp, Ngorongoro Crater camp also offers private dining areas with unrivalled views of the moonlit Crater.

ACTIVITIES:
Guests can enjoy thrilling morning and afternoon game drives led by qualified guides into the Crater and along the rim. There are also cultural activities available in a nearby Maasai village.

One of the main selling points is the sheer quality of the company running this property. Sanctuary Lodges are known across Africa as being one of the continents finest luxury safari companies. Our only concern with this property is that it could be extremely cold at night in the tent during July and August. During this period the temperature at the Crater drops drastically and has been a negative to a number of tented camps in the past.

"A good property but there is so much competition in the area that I tend to use this property rarely. There are better options."
