"This property may be large and somewhat lacking in character, but the rooms are great and the location for Ngorongoro is the best off the Crater rim."

Although the lodge is fairly luxurious and has high standards, we find it a little larger than we would like so prefer the more intimate setting of Plantation Lodge, Gibbs Farm or Escarpment Lodge. This is a fine lodge nevertheless.

Neptune Ngorongoro Lodge is set in its own 50 acres of bush very close to the main gate that enters the Ngorongoro Crater when traveling from Arusha. It is just a 20-minute drive away from the crater itself with its spectacular wildlife.

The lodge is made up of 20 spacious log cabins with open fireplaces in both the bedroom and living room, an en suite bathroom with a shower, a dining area and a large private viewing deck. The main lodge comprises a restaurant, bar, swimming pool and spa.

**Please be aware that we are unable to book this property for families with young children under the age of 6 years, for safety reasons relating to the balconies/decks/walkways.**

  • Game-viewing is superb as the Crater has one of the highest densities of wildlife to be found anywhere in Africa.
  • Visits to Lake Manyara and Olduvai Gorge are also possible.

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
