OVERVIEW:

Pamushana has the impeccable service standards that come as standard across all Singita lodges. The small size of the lodge enables staff to offer a very exclusive and personalised approach. For example, dining options are discussed with guests on arrival, to ensure guests enjoy every single meal. And, of course, the Singita hospitality extends from the lodge to encompass the local area, as this is a company that prides itself on wildlife conservation, eco-friendly tourism and community support.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

Singita Pamushana Lodge is located within the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve. This is an area of over 60,000 hectares, bordering Gonarezhou National Park. The lodge is situated in the shade of trees, within lush gardens, and overlooking a large lake.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT SINGITA PAMUSHANA LODGE:

Pamushana’s main areas are housed in wood-and-thatch structures, blending beautifully into the trees. There is an open-air lounge with colourful seating and a television, an open-air dining area in addition to a teak dining deck, a library, a bar, a wine cellar, and a swimming pool. All of the communal spaces have amazing views of the Malilangwe Dam and the sandstone hills rising above the water. There is complimentary internet (wifi) access, mobile phone signal, and spa and fitness centre facilities. The spa offers massages and mani-pedis, while for sporty types there are two tennis courts and a golf course nearby.

The use of natural materials continues into the guest accommodation at Pamushana. It consists of four one-bedroom suites, two two-bedroom suites, and two family suites (two-bedroom and three-bedroom respectively). The exclusive-use Malilangwe House is located adjacent to Pamushana and is an excellent option for bigger groups of family and friends. All options are spacious and air-conditioned, and decorated in an elegant combination of local Shangaan culture and contemporary styles inspired by African patterns and shapes. The suites have en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers with lovely views over the lake. The same views are available from each suite’s private deck and plunge pool. The villa has all the features of the suites, plus its own kitchen, living room, and dining room. And rather than a plunge pool, it boasts an infinity pool, with panoramic vistas of the lake and dam.

ACTIVITIES AT SINGITA PAMUSHANA LODGE:

Pamushana offers a range of exciting activities including great options for children too  – bush walks, fishing, swimming, and community visits.

• Game drives

  – With both day and nighttime game drives available, guests will have multiple chances to witness the rich assortment of wildlife in the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve, including the Big Five, cheetah, wild dog, rare antelope species and impressive birdlife.

• Safari Walks

  – Guided safari walks are also available, giving guests the opportunity to experience the area from a different perspective.

• Fishing

  – The lake below the lodge is a brilliant location for catching bass, bream, catfish and tigerfish. Your guide and tracker will also show you local fishing techniques which involve using plants found in the area.

• Community visits

  – Guests can gain insight into the local Shangaan culture and history of the area with community visits and tours of San rock art sites which date back hundreds of years.

• Sundowner cruises

  – There’s nothing quite like watching the sunset in the bush after a day of safari activities and the dam, located just below the lodge, is a prime spot to enjoy a sunset cruise. Sip on a sundowner while keeping an eye out for any wildlife ambling over to the water’s edge for a refreshing drink.

• Stargazing

  – Take your wild explorations to the night skies with a stargazing session at Pamushana. Enjoy skies free of city lights in this remote wilderness, giving you incredible views of twinkling constellations. 

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
