  • Canoe and walking safari
  • Maximum of 8 guests

When To Visit The Linyanti:
"Genuinely adventurous experiences in Botswana are few and far between. However, the Selinda Canoe Trail (currently called the Selinda Adventure Trail due to potential lack of water!) is one of the best experiences in the country. Think small mobile tents and a focus on wild adventure, and you will not be far off. Superb!"

OVERVIEW:

Also called the Selinda Canoe Trail, this trip is seasonal and depends entirely on water levels during the annual flooding of the Selinda Spillway.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

The trail starts 45 km downstream of Selinda Camp and goes eastward along the Selinda Spillway, a waterway that links the Okavango Delta and Linyanti and Kwando water systems.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT SELINDA ADVENTURE TRAIL:

Walk-in canvas Kodiak tents are provided as they are comfortable and large enough for two people. Separate screened bucket showers with hot and cold water are also supplied. The trail terminates at Selinda Camp on the morning of the fifth day. Guests can either stay for a couple of nights at Selinda or Zarafa Camp, or be transferred to Selinda airstrip to leave on a charter flight.

ACTIVITIES AT SELINDA ADVENTURE TRAIL:

The area is well-known for elephant, buffalo and wild dog as well as many predators, however crocodiles and hippos are rare so canoeing can be relatively relaxed! The trip consists of three full days and two half days of fairly easy paddling along the Spillway, watching animals on the bank and disembarking for brunch, siestas and bush walks looking for animal tracks and signs. At night guests stay in impromptu fly camps, sleeping in tents and eating outside under the stars.

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
