OVERVIEW:
There are few properties as prestigious as Wilderness Mombo. It’s the crowning jewel of the Okavango Delta and consistently regarded as one of the finest camps in Africa, with accommodations and communal spaces that are supremely luxurious. Yet it’s the guest experience and mind-blowing wildlife sightings that truly set it apart, with a dedicated team of staff, excellent guiding, and astonishing densities of game. As the focus is primarily on game drives, we suggest combining Wilderness Mombo with camps of a similar standard, such as Wilderness Jao or Wilderness Vumbura Plains for water-based activities. Rates are full board and include accommodation, all meals, twice-daily scheduled camp activities, park fees, laundry, and all local drinks.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
Wilderness Mombo is located on Chief’s Island within the Moremi Game Reserve, considered the beating heart of the Delta due to its astonishingly high concentrations of wildlife. Access is by light aircraft from Maun, and it’s approximately 15 minutes by car from the airstrip to camp. The journey into Moremi is wonderfully scenic, offering ample opportunities for wildlife viewing.

The communal area at Wilderness Mombo features large open-sided living and dining spaces with mesmerising views of the floodplain, as well as a library, an inviting and well-stocked bar, a pizza oven, and a sweeping deck where guests are invited to dine in the open air and take in the magnificent views. A wooden walkway leads to the infinity lap pool, small spa and gym-with-a-view. Memorable evenings are held at the boma, with music, dancing, and samples of Botswana’s traditional cuisine – a wonderful experience and a great way to interact with some of the other guests.
