YZ's 'Classic' Safaris

By Julian 16 October 2018

Our ‘classic’ safaris are the most popular safaris we sell. Clients who favour this type of trip find either that our ’value’ safaris tend to be too adventurous, or simply that the lodges we use in the value category are not quite luxurious enough! The classic price bracket is where we start offering some of the industry’s most-experienced and best-established safari lodges and camps.

How much do our classic safaris cost?

These safaris start at approximately $7,000–$8,000 per person. They tend to include some superb 5-star camps and lodges – properties where standards of guiding, food and service are set very high! This is where we use genuinely luxurious properties that are run by some of our most impressive partners.

What are the properties like and what experience can I expect?

Our classic safaris are seriously good safaris. The price you pay at this level ensures terrific trips and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. The properties themselves are more than comfortable, featuring large beds, excellent en-suite facilities and a real focus on the hospitality experience as much as the quality of safari itself! The price bracket guarantees a significant increase in luxury levels over our value safaris, whilst the guiding standards are better too. High standards of accommodation and guiding combine to create a product that is backed up by our use of Africa’s most-experienced and best-run safari companies.

Below, we provide links to some of our most popular classic safaris

We focus on safaris that showcase the highlights of each destination and we also include a cross-country safari that covers the majority of Africa’s highlights.

Tanzania Northern Highlights & Zanzibar – this safari includes Tanzania’s main highlights – the wildlife-rich volcanic caldera of Ngorongoro and the Serengeti, to witness the wildebeest Great Migration! The trip finishes with a few days on Zanzibar to relax.

South Africa Couple Safari – here’s one of our most popular safaris to Cape Town, the Winelands and the Sabi Sands on the border of the Kruger National Park. This is a rare safari, due to the inclusion of both a world-class city and an area like the Winelands!

Kenya Couple Safari – focusing on the Maasai Mara and the conservation-strong Lewa region, this is a fantastic trip to the home of safari itself! We include a lengthy stay in the Maasai Mara, featuring both the Reserve and the private conservancies.

Vic Falls & Botswana Highlights (10n) – this safari includes Victoria Falls as well as two of Botswana’s most famous private reserves! The trip starts at Victoria Falls, continuing to the spectacular Linyanti region and the Okavango Delta.

Zambia: Vic Falls & the Luangwa – providing the opportunity to travel through Victoria Falls and the Luangwa River Valley, this is an amazing safari showcasing the highlights of the country.

Zimbabwe Couple Safari – this is a serious adventure through Victoria Falls, Hwange National Park and finally Mana Pools. It’s one of our most adventurous and good-value safaris for the luxury on offer!

Namibia Highlights Flying Safari (8n) – starting in the sand dunes of Sossusvlei, this flying safari moves up the coast to the Palmwag Concession in Central Damaraland. The final few days are spent searching for the ‘Big Five’ in the Ongava Reserve and Etosha National Park.
