When To Visit South Luangwa National Park:

Tena Tena is located in the Nsefu sector of South Luangwa National Park. It is run by Robin Pope Safaris, one of the park’s most famous operators.

Tena Tena is a tented camp that operates in a virtually private walking area.

It is stretched along the bank of Luangwa River on the north side of South Luangwa National Park.

Its six rooms are spacious yet cosy, each with an open-air bathroom, outside shower and a verandah with views across the river. It is the most adventurous camp that Robin Pope operates in the valley. Tena Tena has recently moved to a new and improved location along with improving its style. The communal area is now a great place to relax during the hottest hours of the day.

The camp is open from late May until the end of October, and focuses on excellent guiding and a choice of walking safaris, game drives and night drives. Overall, the quality of this camp is set very high – a great choice for mature travellers and an especially good combination with Robin Pope’s other camp, Nsefu Camp.

"A truly wild camp where big game regularly was be spotted on the sand bank in front of camp. A walking safari is a must!"
