Uganda's main cities and towns hug the colossal Lake Victoria, including its capital Kampala and major towns Entebbe and Jinja.
Located at the very north of the lake, Kampala has a prime position and is constantly expanding its reach along Lake Victoria – it is one of the fastest-growing cities in the world. Just south of the capital is Entebbe, the gateway to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Queen Elizabeth National Park. Set just east of Kampala is Jinja, famous as the historic source of the Nile river.
Kampala is Uganda’s capital city, and also the largest city in the country. It is one of the world’s fastest-growing cities, as well as East Africa’s best city to live.
Entebbe is one of Uganda’s largest towns. It is situated in the country’s central region, about 37 kilometres south-west of capital city Kampala.
The town of Jinja is situated in eastern Uganda, within the sub-region of Busoga. Located just over 80 kilometres east of Kampala, it is easily accessed from the country’s capital city via air or road transfer.
