Uganda's main cities and towns hug the colossal Lake Victoria, including its capital Kampala and major towns Entebbe and Jinja.
Located at the very north of the lake, Kampala has a prime position and is constantly expanding its reach along Lake Victoria – it is one of the fastest-growing cities in the world. Just south of the capital is Entebbe, the gateway to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Queen Elizabeth National Park. Set just east of Kampala is Jinja, famous as the historic source of the Nile river.
