On both the inner and outer isles of this beautiful archipelago, there are some wonderfully romantic resorts, hotels, B&Bs, and self-catering accommodations. Here, you can choose how to spend your time – getting active with some wild watersports, or simply relaxing and sunbathing together. We have four favourites, but the details that follow are really just a single snapshot within a vast album showcasing everything that is magical about the Seychelles for couples’ holidays. Do get in touch with us to talk through all your options!
We begin on Mahé, which is the largest of the inner isles and the largest island overall. Our pick here is Four Seasons Seychelles, a particularly luxurious resort! Positioned on the south-west coast, this property has a superb setting that includes the beautiful beach of Petite Anse as well as wooded hills overlooking the Indian Ocean. Constructed from natural timbers and brick, Four Seasons merges seamlessly with its surroundings. There are eight categories of accommodation and we recommend a hilltop suite for couples, as this option provides plenty of privacy! Each suite contains the full range of mod cons and amazing views of the ocean. You can enjoy watersports, walking or jogging along the scenic trails of Petite Anse, and even excursions to Mahé’s markets, museums, gardens, and cathedral. Alternatively, simply find a quiet spot on the beach and indulge in some quality together time!
Another property we love within the inner isles, is situated on La Digue, which lies just over 50 kilometres north-east of Mahé. This is Fleur de Lys, providing self-catering or B&B accommodation. Just a short stroll from the western coastline and the famous beach of Anse Source d’Argent, Fleur de Lys has a modest eight chalets set within gorgeous gardens. The charm of this property lies in its simplicity – it is very well suited to couples who are looking for great value without compromising on all the island activities you can enjoy here! Less commercial than the larger inner isles, La Digue has plenty of attractions – world-class beaches, fishing trips, L’Union Estate & Copra Factory, and Veuve Reserve. At the Reserve, you can get to know the island’s giant tortoises! That is a magical moment indeed.
As far as the outer isles are concerned, North Island is perfect for you if you are looking for a super-luxurious stay! Listed in the Wilderness Collection, a portfolio belonging to a company that esteems honouring the natural environment, North is absolutely idyllic. With only a very small proportion of the island allocated to accommodation and amenities for visitors, the beaches here are breathtakingly unspoilt and the hills are resplendent with swaying palm trees and other tropical species. Eleven villas are positioned a short stroll from a fabulous beach. Each boasts a lovely four-poster bed, a marble bath, and both indoor and outdoor showers! From this sumptuous base, you can enjoy diving, kayaking, deep sea fishing, mountain biking, trips to neighbouring Silhouette Island… or just take some time to explore North together, wandering amidst those palm trees and meeting giant tortoises on your way!
Finally, we head out to Denis Private Island, to bring you another very fine example of outer isles accommodation. The family that owns Denis is committed to sustainable tourism – to the extent that there are no paved roads here! One lavish villa and 24 cosy cottages are spaced either side of the main headland. All options for couples are very luxurious, with a big bed each as well as a comfy seating area, a sunny courtyard, and a deck with magnificent ocean views. You can enjoy diving, snorkelling, fishing, or simply playing in the lagoon. Nature tours are also available, during which you can meet and greet those giant tortoises again! The Seychelles has a lot to offer as a couples’ holiday destination. Just get in touch with us, to start planning your romantic getaway!
