Most of our travelers visit Mozambique for its beaches. It is a perfect destination to combine with a safari in a neighboring country beforehand. Northern Mozambique links easily with Tanzania’s National Parks, especially the southern parks of Ruaha and Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous). Southern Mozambique, specifically the Bazaruto Archipelago, links best with safari camps in Botswana, Zambia or South Africa.
There are very few lodges in Mozambique that are small enough to be hired exclusively – the majority of the hotels here have between 10 and 20 rooms, so you need an especially large group to be exclusive. Therefore, our recommendations for private group trips to Mozambique are based solely on what we believe to be the best camps in the country.
