Mozambique Vacations for Couples

Mozambique is a superb destination for couples looking for the best of Africa’s beaches. It is also home to two safari parks which are particularly suitable for both safari enthusiasts and adventurers.

Mozambique beaches

There are primarily two beach destinations in Mozambique – the southern Bazaruto Archipelago and the northern Quirimbas. The decision on which one to choose, usually depends on where the remainder of your itinerary is based. Quirimbas is easily linked from East Africa, specifically Tanzania, whilst Bazaruto is much better for southern Africa, especially South Africa, Botswana and Zambia.

If you are looking for the very best beach experience, then Vamizi in Quirimbas is the best place to go. In our view it is one of the two best beach properties in Africa. Azura at Quilalea, Benguerra and Azura on Bazaruto are also superb. For travelers looking for an adventurous beach lodge with a seriously good price, then Guludo is always a great option. If you want our input on the choice of Bazaruto vs Quirimbas… and we are not considering ease of logistics etc, then the answer is Quirimbas – by a country mile!!

Mozambique safari

The safari industry in Mozambique is particularly suitable for couples who are looking for adventure; for those who want to get out on foot and explore the wilderness, and share their experience with some of the most passionate guides in the business. Our recommendation for you would be to explore Gorongosa. However, do not come here expecting a Big Five safari like you would find elsewhere – Mozambique safari is an experience focussed on appreciating the wilderness. The vast majority of safari in Mozambique is suited for the enthusiast only.
