Kwando Lagoon Camp

  • One of Africa's largest private reserves
  • Intimate riverside accommodation
  • Probably the best camp for wild dog in Africa
  • Offers walking and boating safaris
When To Visit The Linyanti:

Kwando Lagoon Camp is in one of Botswana's greatest private reserves.

Kwando Lagoon Camp is one of only two camps in this huge private reserve. Slightly different to its close neighbour Lebala, safaris at Kwando Lagoon tend to be less action packed yet still focused on safari rather than the luxurious hospitality found in other camps nearby.

The camp is located within the Kwando Reserve in the famous Linyanti region.

With only nine rooms, Kwando Lagoon is located in the north of the reserve, with a wonderful riverside setting.

One of the main attractions of Kwando Lagoon is that it’s arguably the best place in Africa to view African wild dog – dogs have denned here repeatedly over the last decade. Lagoon offers standard game drives both at day and at night, along with walking safari and boating safari.

The game viewing in this reserve is at its best in the dry season, with Kwando Lagoon coming into its absolute peak from July through to early November. At this time, predators and elephant are numerous.

"I’ve always loved Lagoon and with the properties fairly recent refurbishment this is one of Kwando’s more luxurious properties. Great for game viewing from June to October this is also an area that’s famous for Wild dog and good predators out of this ‘peak’ season. A top camp."
