Tor's biography

Having grown up on a farm in Wales, Tor has always had a passion for wildlife and the outdoors. She understands the importance of the work and care that is needed to nurture healthy livestock and the environment. This has furthered her passion to learn and explore how wildlife and conservation is managed around the world.

For three years Tor studied Landscape Architecture at Leeds Beckett University, where her final project was focused on sustainability. She explored various green infrastructure methods and how the urban environment can become more sustainable due to urbanization.

Most memorable experience

“I have been lucky enough to travel to Africa several times and have had many varied experiences. If I had to choose one, it would be the dhow safari we embarked on from Ibo Island in Mozambique. From the moment we set sail and the sound of the wind taking the sails, I knew it was going to be an amazing unique experience. We swam with dolphins with the help of Lili, a former free diver and the most amazing swimmer I have ever seen. We had whales swimming alongside us for days and pods of dolphins swimming and jumping in the bow of the wave. We set up camp each night on small secluded sandy islands. The crew cooked the fish we caught on a charcoal fire each evening, which was out of this world. There was no electricity or phone signal, and after a day it felt like we were at one with nature. The snorkeling on the untouched reefs was unforgettable, with a huge variety of fish and other species, and the colours were so vivid. We landed back at Ibo Island after a few days, feeling so revived!”
