Although this camp has an excellent location and is good value for money, we feel that a number of tented camp specialists offer a much more authentic safari experience. As a result, we rarely send our clients here; however, if clients do wish to come, it is best booked as part of a Serena Hotel circuit to get lower rates.

Our Yellow Zebra Opinion
  • One to discuss with us
Owned by the Serena Hotel chain, this camp is rarely used at Yellow Zebra due to the quality of other tented options in the park. A good location, though, just a little lacking in authenticity.

Activities

Game viewing

  • The game viewing is good throughout the year, but even better during the Great Migration.

    03 Tent Exterior Close Up

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.

Access & Location

Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp is situated in the Lobo area of the Serengeti on one of the main corridors of the Great Migration. It is part of the Serena Hotel Group, which caters for the upper-middle market packaged safaris. It is smaller and slightly more upmarket the most of their camps.
