Elsa's recent travel experience

Whilst working on Apple TV’s Tiny World, Elsa spent time filming in South Africa and Kenya, focusing on some of Africa’s smallest and most fascinating creatures. Most of the filming was done on foot, making for an incredibly immersive and memorable experience. She particularly fell in love with Laikipia in northern Kenya – a wild, beautiful landscape that left a lasting impression.

Elsa's most memorable experience

“One of my most memorable travel experiences was visiting the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s elephant reintroduction programme in Tsavo. The young elephants, though still considered babies, were already towering over me. They were at a special stage in their journey – roaming free in the bush as they pleased, but still returning to their carers for milk. I’ll never forget the moment they came thundering over the hill towards me, rumbling with excitement. I stood quietly as they surrounded me, splashing in the waterhole and playfully rolling in the mud. It was such a heart-pounding experience that I couldn’t sleep that night.”

Elsa's biography

Elsa grew up in rural England, surrounded by animals thanks to her vet parents. This early connection to wildlife led her to study Animal Behaviour, followed by an MSc in Wildlife Conservation – laying the foundation for a career dedicated to exploring and protecting the natural world.

For 10 years, Elsa worked in Natural History TV production, creating programmes for the likes of BBC, NatGeo, and Apple TV. This was a role that took her across the globe – from rainforests in South America to the vast savannas of Africa. Her work focused on telling powerful, engaging stories about the planet’s most fascinating animals, often in remote and challenging locations. Along the way, she developed a deep appreciation not just for wild spaces, but for the cultures, people, and conservation efforts that help protect them.

Driven by a desire to help others experience the same sense of wonder, Elsa joined Yellow Zebra to create unforgettable journeys that connect travellers with the natural world. She brings with her a global perspective, a strong grounding in conservation, and a passion for crafting meaningful, immersive adventures.
