WILDERNESS DAVISON'S LOCATION & ACCESS:

It is situated among ancient false mopane trees in the Linkwasha Concession, one of the best areas of Hwange National Park for viewing game.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT WILDERNESS DAVISON'S:

The main facilities of Wilderness Davison’s consist of a large lounge with bar, plus separate dining room. The latter has a long table for communal meals and a side table for tea and coffee, available all day. Both lounge/bar and diner are housed within a V-shaped building. This is open fronted in design, presenting superb views of the waterhole. Guests may move even closer to visiting wildlife via the building’s pine deck and swimming pool. There is also a campfire area, open to the stars.

The guest accommodation is located along a well-trodden elephant path and comprises eight tented rooms with twin beds or double bed in addition to a two-bedroom family tent. All bedrooms have a ceiling fan under a canvas roof, a few rugs spread over concrete floors, and mesh windows affording panoramic vistas of the surrounding pan. Guests also enjoy spotting wildlife from their tent’s private balcony. And each tent has an en-suite shower room with flush toilet, deep basin and indoor shower – the camp even provides complimentary toiletries.

ACTIVITIES AT WILDERNESS DAVISON'S:

  • Activities at Wilderness Davison’s focus on game drives by day and by night, plus walking safari.
  • The Linkwasha Concession boasts impressive populations of all Big Five animals (though please note it is very rare to see rhino) and other species such as giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and eland. The waterholes in the area are particularly popular with elephant! At night, hyena, mongoose, pangolin and porcupine roam the plains.
  • Guests also have the opportunity of visiting a local village, guided by a villager or Wilderness guide. During this four-hour excursion, it is possible to tour the local school, meet the village headman/headwoman and get to know the villagers.

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.

Our first camp. We had a great beginning to our first safari experience, down to the welcoming and friendly staff and an excellent guide. Lovely setting, with a great view of a large water hole visited by a wide variety of wildlife.

Excellent game viewing in their private concession in this part of Hwange NP due to plenty of waterholes. The waterhole in front of Davison's Camp had elephant, buffalo, warthog, sable, kudu and impala everyday plus plenty of birds. The camp staff were outstanding and the quality of food was amazing. Our guide, Luvmore, was one of the best guides we have had. Definitely a place to revisit.
