"Travel here in September and October to witness a zebra migration like no other; it's a wonderful place to be in the peak of the dry season! December through to April is much harder work; nevertheless, this camp is a hidden gem that few people visit. Fantastic."

OVERVIEW:

Leroo La Tau is spread along the riverbank, giving spectacular views over the Boteti and into the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

Leroo La Tau is located on its own concession on the Boteti River, just to the west of Botswana’s Makgakigadi Salt Pan, approximately two hours drive from Maun.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT LEROO LA TAU:

The main lodge has a dining room, reading room and bar, as well as a fire pit and a plunge pool. There is a hide above the river from which guests can watch game both in and across the river.

Its 12 thatched chalets are raised up onto wooden decks. Glass sliding doors lead out to a decking area where guests can sit out and watch passing game. However, a few of the rooms do not have nearly as good views as the others, so room choice is key. The rooms themselves are very spacious and relatively high spec.

ACTIVITIES AT LEROO LA TAU:

  • Activities at Leroo La Tau include standard game drives as well as river safaris. The camp has the option of game-driving inside the Makgadikgadi, as well as operating night drives on its own concession. Day trips to Nxai Pan as well as to Baines Baobabs are offered to people on long stays.

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
