Sarah’s Recent Travel Experience

Sarah’s most recent safari was to Kenya. Her first stop was a day and night in Nairobi before flying out to the Maasai Mara. A welcoming committee of giraffes was standing on the airstrip as the plane touched down, marking the start of two spectacular days in the Mara, staying just south of the Talek River. This was followed by a wonderful stay at the beautiful Lewa Wilderness, Sarah’s first time enjoying a horseback safari! After four days of incredible game viewing in Kenya, it was time to relax – and the trip concluded at the luxurious White Sand Villas in Zanzibar.
Sarah’s Most Memorable Experience

“There was a particularly special moment in Kenya on our first night around camp. We had finished our evening meal, and the group were enjoying a nightcap and exchanging stories around the campfire. The camp manager’s radio buzzed, so he excused himself politely and said he’d be back. A few moments later he returned, asking quietly who would like to see two elephant families, as they were coming into camp. We all got back into the vehicles just as quietly, and parked so we could see the two families making their way into the outskirts of the camp, trying to cross the river. It started to rain, with thunder and lightning, which made the backdrop to this amazing sighting so magical and for me, on a first-time safari, somewhat surreal. The image of the baby elephants following their mothers, with these clear lightning bolts striking down behind them, is something I won’t forget. As Tuesday nights go, this was a memorable one.”

Sarah’s Bio
Sarah was born and raised in Cheltenham. In 2013, after living in London for a few years, she returned to her hometown to begin her career in the travel industry. She started by booking travel to Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa for a luxury tour operator, before taking a role as PA to the managing director, learning everything travel from client facing to behind the scenes. Following the birth of her second child, Sarah returned to the travel industry, with a new role in Africa sales support.
At this stage, her love for the extraordinary continent began. After visiting Kenya, Sarah’s passion for Africa grew immensely and has led her to Yellow Zebra Safaris, where she hopes to continue to learn and explore all things Africa!
