"An old classic and the most affordable, albeit simple, accommodation we use in Dar. Considering you can pay a fortune for average accommodation in Dar, I find you can't go wrong with the Slipway... especially due to its surrounding bars and restaurants."

OVERVIEW:

The hotel is located at The Slipway - Dar es Salaam’s premier shopping and leisure centre. The Slipway began life as a boatyard but has recently been developed into a complex with a number of shops and a range of dining experiences including Italian, seafood and sushi restaurants.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

Located just 7km from Dar es Salaam city centre on the Msasani peninsula, overlooking the Indian Ocean, and approximately 40 minutes from Dar es Salaam’s airport.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT SLIPWAY DAR ES SALAAM:

At Hotel Slipway guests can take advantage of the simple but fully equipped guest rooms, which benefit from air conditioning, before starting their safari. A more comfortable option in Dar es Salaam is the Serena Hotel.

ACTIVITIES AT SLIPWAY DAR ES SALAAM:

  • At the hotel, guests can go swimming, try out the facilities at the onsite gym or venture into the spa for a beauty treatment.
  • Beyond the hotel, there is scuba diving, boat trips to Bongoyo Island and city sighting on offer.

Dar was like a sauna while I was at the Slipway for two nights and I can’t tell you how much I appreciated the effective AC in the room. I enjoyed Slipway, having restaurant options & shops around was very convenient. The room itself was very comfortable too and the staff was really nice. Slipway is my new favourite hotel in Dar, I prefer it to the more expensive Hyatt for sure.

We were just here for a few hours in between flights. It is a lovely hotel with a beautiful view of the Indian Ocean. Our breakfast was fine as was our room. We were really not there long enough to have a full experience.
