Welgelegen Guest House is a charming property right in the heart of Cape Town, with all the ingredients of an upscale home-away-from-home, including sophisticated style, delightful service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Originally two separate Victorian family homes, the former owners connected the houses with a courtyard garden, resulting in a 16-room luxury guesthouse full of detail and character. Welgelegen Guest House is situated on a quiet residential street, a short distance from Cape Town’s lively Kloof Street. Guests arrive at Cape Town International Airport, and it’s a 20-minute car ride from there to the hotel.

Welgelegen Guest House offers 16 en-suite guest rooms categorised as mini, standard, superior, and superior family rooms. The design creates the atmosphere of an elegant private residence, featuring crisp linens, cosy throws and cushions, tasteful artwork on the walls, and patterned wallpaper. The mini rooms are the most affordable option, ideal for single travellers or those on a budget. There are two standard rooms, each equipped with a queen-size bed and a shower. The larger superior rooms feature an extra-length king-size bed that can be converted into twin beds, with some rooms also including a bath. Additionally, the two superior family rooms come with an interleading room for children, accommodating groups of three or four guests. All accommodations are equipped with air conditioning, satellite television, an electronic safe, a mini-bar, tea-and-coffee-making facilities, drinking water, a telephone, a hairdryer, and complimentary Wi-Fi access. Some rooms also have double doors that open onto a balcony.

Welgelegen Guest House has a leafy inner courtyard with a comfortable seating arrangement, where guests can relax after busy days exploring the city. There’s a small plunge pool too, and shaded sunloungers for cooling off in the heat of the day. The stylish lounge is comfortable and sophisticated with its velvet sofas and sink-in armchairs, and there’s a selection of reading material for those wishing to settle in with a good book. Breakfast is served daily, and as the property is so close to Kloof Street, plenty of excellent restaurants are in easy reach for lunch and dinner.
