Singita

Singita is one of our favourite lodge providers in Africa and features in many of our best itineraries. We are preferred Singita suppliers and have first hand knowledge and experiences of all the Singita Camps.

Background information

Singita operates 12 lodges in total, 7 in Tanzania, 4 in South Africa and 1 in Zimbabwe. Singita was founded in 1993 when Singita Ebony Lodge was built on family-owned land in what is now the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Its aim was to share this beautiful area of bush, while respecting the natural environment and challenging accepted notions of luxury. It has grown considerably over the last 20 years but still keeps the highest standards of luxury, while at the same time being environmentally friendly, assisting sustainable conservation and the empowerment of local communities.

Yellow Zebra view

Singita is quite possibly the most luxurious of all the safari companies. Its lodges all have exclusive, private game-viewing rather than being in national parks. It is difficult not to use superlatives when describing the lodges as they are all ultra-luxurious. Its flagship lodges are Boulders and Lebombo in South Africa, and Sasakwa and Faru Faru in Tanzania.

Singita camps:

Singita Boulders Lodge

Singita Boulders Lodge is located in the private Singita Reserve in the heart of South Africa's famous Sabi Sands. This reserve offers phenomenal big game viewing at any time of year, and is particularly famous for its leopard viewing.

Singita Ebony Lodge

Beautifully decorated in a colonial style, Ebony Lodge offers sumptuous luxury and excellent game viewing. The lodge stands in the shade of jackalbery trees beside the Sand River. Both the beautiful lounge and atmospheric dining area have beautiful views across the river.

Singita Lebombo

Combining exciting game viewing with sheer luxury, Lebombo Lodge is one of our favourite lodges in the whole of South Africa. The lodge sits in a dramatic position on the edge of a cliff overlooking the N'wanetsi River below. It is a contemporary design and extremely luxurious.

Singita Sweni

Singita Sweni Lodge lies in the Lebombo concession area on the east side of the Kruger, bordering Mozambique. This is a wonderful area for game-viewing and is home to all of the Big Five. There are only two lodges in the entire concession area, so guests are given a very private safari experience which is totally unspoiled.

Singita Sasakwa Lodge

A magnificent location, spectacular views, old-time grandeur along with modern-day luxury – we think Sasakwa Lodge is rather special! Singita Sasakwa Lodge is located in a private reserve in the western area of Serengeti National Park. It is a fabulous place, combining extreme luxury with great style.

Singita Sabora Tented Camp

This magnificent tented camp is one of our favourites in Tanzania – it combines great luxury with fantastic game viewing. The camp itself is built in the middle of the Sabora Plains, a stretch of the extended Serengeti that is classic ‘Out of Africa’. The rooms are designed in a 1920s exploration style and come complete with antique furniture, four-poster beds, roll-top baths and private decking areas.

Singita Faru Faru Lodge

Faru Faru, meaning ‘Rhino Rhino’, looks out over a watering hole onto Grumeti River. This is a fantastic location, where game is often viewable from camp. With only eight rooms, Faru Faru is a small, high-end lodge where service and hospitality are of the highest order.

Singita Serengeti House

Perched on the slopes of Sasakwa Hill in the 350,000 acre Grumeti Reserve, Serengeti House is a perfect place for family and friends to get together and enjoy the Great Migration.

Singita Explore

Singita Explore offers the most authentic ‘rough-it in great style’ experience in Northern Tanzania. This classy tented camp offers a very high standard of service together with the thrill of camping.

Singita Mara River Tented Camp

Singita Mara Tented Camp is a new camp located in the Lamai triangle near Tanzania's border with Kenya. The area is excellent for game throughout the year with large populations of elephant, big cats, plains game, crocodiles and hippo. It is particularly good for the great migration as wildebeest cross the river at various points near the camp.

Singita Pamushana Lodge

Singita Pamushana Lodge is located within the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve. This is an area of over 60,000 hectares, bordering Gonarezhou National Park. The lodge is situated in the shade of trees, within lush gardens, and overlooking a large lake.
