OVERVIEW:
The Lodge is located on the south side of Impalila Island. Although this island is in Namibia, it is very close to Botswana's Chobe National Park so the lodge is an excellent base for exploring the wildlife along the Chobe River.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
The lodge sits in riverine forest and overlooks the Chobe River.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT ICHINGO CHOBE RIVER LODGE:
Guests sleep in eight large safari tents. A visit here is often combined with a night or two on one of the two Ichobezi houseboats. They each have four cabins, a lounge, bar and plunge pool, as well as tender boats for short outings.
*For families with children under the age of 6 years, we always request a room without a balcony for safety reasons.
ACTIVITIES AT ICHINGO CHOBE RIVER LODGE:
Each party has its own private guide to look after them during their stay and take them on motorboat safaris along the Chobe and Zambezi rivers and guided walks around Impalila island and the Caprivi strip. Other activities include fly-fishing for tigerfish, and birdwatching for some of the 450 different species of bird to be found in this wetland area. Day trips to Victoria Falls and 4x4 drives into Chobe National Park can also be arranged.
*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
