Chobe Savanna Lodge is booked on an all-inclusive basis, featuring all meals, a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks, all scheduled safari activities, park entrance fees, a complimentary mini-bar fridge in each chalet, and a laundry service. The lodge is open all year round.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
The lodge is accessed via approximately an hour’s motorised boat transfer from Kasane. It’s situated in the Eastern Caprivi and has breathtaking views over Chobe’s sprawling Puku Flats floodplains.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT CHOBE SAVANNA LODGE:
Guest accommodation consists of ten twin-bedded chalets and one family suite. All are classic timber-and-thatch structures, spaced out along the banks of the Chobe river. Each standard unit offers a combined bedroom-and-lounge area, featuring twin beds, bedside tables and lighting, and comfy seating. In-room amenities include air conditioning, fans, a tea-and-coffee station, a safe, a hairdryer, and 220V multi-adaptor plugs for charging electrical equipment. Guests also have use of an air horn, a flashlight, and an umbrella. En-suite facilities comprise flush toilet, twin washbasins, and shower; and the lodge provides free soap and shower gel. The family suite benefits from all these features, in addition to an extra twin bedroom for children. It also has a shared bathroom rather than en-suite arrangements. And every unit boasts a private veranda, with lovely river views!
Chobe Savanna Lodge’s communal facilities occupy the lodge itself, an attractive thatched open-sided building that boasts 270-degree views over the river. Inside, there’s the comfortable lounge, containing a variety of seating and tables before a cosy fireplace. The lodge’s library provides another pleasant space for relaxation, as well as a basic internet connection for guests who need to keep in touch with the wider world. Delicious meals are enjoyed in the indoor dining area, and guests can also dine al fresco – for example, on the riverbanks while looking out for elephants! The lodge has a fully stocked bar too, and a curio shop where you can browse for souvenir items. Another great spot for wildlife watching is the spacious viewing deck, while the campfire is the perfect place for getting to know your fellow travellers and sharing safari stories. For cooling off between activities, there’s a sparkling swimming pool!
