OVERVIEW:

Mbano Manor Hotel by Mantis is a luxury eco-boutique hotel situated a short distance from Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side of the border. Owned by Matifadza Nyazema, it’s the first hotel of its kind led by a Black Zimbabwean female, and women’s empowerment is an integral part of its story. Surrounded by ancient teak forest, Mbano is a peaceful retreat on a nature-filled estate, with 18 private suites scattered throughout. Rates here are inclusive of breakfast, return transfers to Victoria Falls Airport, and complimentary high tea.

Mbano Manor Hotel is located approximately 4 kilometres from Victoria Falls, and a stone’s throw from the town centre. The closest entry point is Victoria Falls Airport, which is approximately 20 minutes by car from the hotel.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT MBANO MANOR HOTEL:

Mbano Manor House features 18 suites spread throughout the property’s forested grounds as well as a separate presidential villa, which can accommodate up to six people. Each suite includes 45 square metres of indoor space, a private courtyard, and a wraparound terrace where guests can relax with a morning coffee or post-safari sundowner. The spacious, well-designed bedrooms have king-sized beds with mosquito nets, and some can be configured as twins on request. Integrated living areas feature comfortable seating and a well-stocked refreshment area, complete with coffee, snacks, a mini-bar, ice, and a coffee machine. The luxurious en-suite bathrooms are decorated with hand-painted tiles and each boasts a clawfoot tub, separate walk-in shower, and double vanity unit. This space conveniently leads both to a double dressing room and outside to the adjoining courtyard.

The 200 sq. m Mutota Forest Villa comes with a 24-hour butler/concierge service and includes an extra-large king-bedded room, a twin room, and the option to accommodate an additional two guests on a convertible sofa in the living room. The house has two indoor showers, two outdoor showers in an enclosed garden courtyard, and a deep-soaking clawfoot bath-tub. An open-plan living space, featuring a double sleeper sofa and a large television, is designed with families in mind, and there’s also a separate dining space that comfortably seats up to six guests.

Guests can stroll through the verdant grounds to reach Mbano’s communal areas or request a golf cart transfer. The prettily styled terrace is the perfect spot to indulge in fine dining or a casual meal, and there’s a bar courtyard and indoor lounge ideal for cooler evenings. Take a dip in the pool during the hottest part of the day, relax with a book on one of the sunloungers, and enjoy a light snack and a cold drink al fresco, accompanied by the sounds of nature.
