The camp’s name comes from ‘Lole’, the name of the owner’s son, and of course the mighty River Zambezi, ‘bezi’. It aims to provide a wild, remote, and luxurious experience along one of Africa’s most incredible stretches of river.

African Buch Camps specializes in tented camps and lodges across Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia, and was founded by professional safari guide Beks Ndlovu. Accommodation will be booked on a full-board basis, including all meals, an assortment of alcoholic and soft drinks, all activities, and a laundry service.

  • These take place within the camp’s own wilderness area. The savanna, woodlands, floodplains, and waters are home to a wealth of wildlife, including four of the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo! There are lots of smaller predators and herbivores too, and plenty of birdlife.

  • All walks are accompanied by an expert guide. You’ll have opportunities to take a closer look at the plants, insects, and birds of the Lower Zam. The guide will answer any questions and make sure you see as much as possible.

  • Cruising the River Zambezi is always a thrill. You’ll have a lot of fun observing such species as hippo, crocodile, and elephant coming down to drink at the river. And don’t forget to pack your binoculars, so you can look out for waterbirds.

  • The Lower Zambezi is one of the greatest fishing locations. With wildlife surrounding you, take the afternoon at a slowly pace and try some catch-and-release.

Access & Location

The camp is situated on the River Zambezi, within the Lower Zambezi National Park. In total, the site occupies 5 hectares of a protected wilderness zone. It’ll be accessed via road transfer from Lusaka.

The main lodge features thatched roofs, has trees incorporated into the design, and even the dining area was built from reclaimed railway sleepers. There is an on-site spa with qualified treatment specialists, as well as a yoga deck. After a relaxing session, guests can venture to the thatched sala on the river, for enjoying a G&T while enjoying the views.
