"By some distance the most decadent camp in Lower Zambezi! Lolebezi is beautifully designed, and combines opulence with the exceptional standards of guiding we have come to expect from camps in Zambia."

OVERVIEW:

If you are looking for a super-stylish yet intimate lodge, set along the Lower Zambezi, then the fresh and latest addition to the African Bush Camps portfolio, Lolebezi, is a fantastic option. The camp’s name comes from ‘Lole’, the name of the owner’s son, and of course the mighty River Zambezi, ‘bezi’. It aims to provide a wild, remote, and luxurious experience along one of Africa’s most incredible stretches of river.

African Buch Camps specializes in tented camps and lodges across Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia, and was founded by professional safari guide Beks Ndlovu. Accommodation will be booked on a full-board basis, including all meals, an assortment of alcoholic and soft drinks, all activities, and a laundry service.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

The camp is situated on the River Zambezi, within the Lower Zambezi National Park. In total, the site occupies 5 hectares of a protected wilderness zone. It’ll be accessed via road transfer from Lusaka.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT LOLEBEZI:

Guest accommodation at Lolebezi consist of four superior suites and two double family units, with both family and romantic escapes in mind. All units are fully air conditioned, and each has a private plunge pool! They are an artistic blend of swanky and contemporary interiors with subtle and exclusive exteriors.

Sustainability has been embedded into the creation of Lolebezi and all of the food served is Halaal-friendly. The main lodge features thatched roofs, has trees incorporated into the design, and even the dining area was built from reclaimed railway sleepers.

There is an on-site spa with qualified treatment specialists, as well as a yoga deck. After a relaxing session, guests can venture to the thatched sala on the river, for enjoying a G&T while enjoying the views.

ACTIVITIES AT LOLEBEZI:

Lolebezi provides a good range of things to do:

  • Expertly guided game drives

    - These take place within the camp’s own wilderness area. The savanna, woodlands, floodplains, and waters are home to a wealth of wildlife, including four of the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo! There are lots of smaller predators and herbivores too, and plenty of birdlife.
  • Walking safaris

    - All walks are accompanied by an expert guide. You’ll have opportunities to take a closer look at the plants, insects, and birds of the Lower Zam. The guide will answer any questions and make sure you see as much as possible.
  • River cruises

    - Cruising the River Zambezi is always a thrill. You’ll have a lot of fun observing such species as hippo, crocodile, and elephant coming down to drink at the river. And don’t forget to pack your binoculars, so you can look out for waterbirds.
  • Fishing

    - The Lower Zambezi is one of the greatest fishing locations. With wildlife surrounding you, take the afternoon at a slowly pace and try some catch-and-release.

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course..
