Lolebezi is the latest addition to the property portfolio of African Bush Camps. Specialising in tented camps and lodges across Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia, this company was founded by professional safari guide Beks Ndlovu. The camp’s name comes from ‘Lole’, the name of the owner’s son, and of course the mighty River Zambezi, ‘bezi’. African Bush Camps aims to provide a wild, remote, and luxurious experience. Accommodation will be booked on a full-board basis, including all meals, an assortment of alcoholic and soft drinks, all activities, and a laundry service.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
The camp is situated on the River Zambezi, within the Lower Zambezi National Park. In total, the site occupies 5 hectares of a protected wilderness zone. It’ll be accessed via road transfer from Lusaka.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT LOLEBEZI:
Guest accommodation will consist of four superior suites and two double family units. We haven’t received much information yet, but we know that African Bush Camps chose this combination with both family and romantic escapes in mind. All units are fully air conditioned, and each has a private plunge pool!
We have very little in the way of details about the communal facilities too, but we know that there will be a thatched sala on the river, which will be a lovely location for enjoying delicious food and drink while you enjoy the views. There will also be a spa, a yoga deck, and a shared plunge pool. Bliss!
ACTIVITIES AT LOLEBEZI:
Lolebezi will provide a good range of things to do:
Expertly guided game drives- These will take place within the camp’s own wilderness area. The savanna, woodlands, floodplains, and waters are home to a wealth of wildlife, including four of the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo! There are lots of smaller predators and herbivores too, and plenty of birdlife.
Walking safaris- All walks will be accompanied by an expert guide. You’ll have opportunities to take a closer look at the plants, insects, and birds of the Lower Zam. The guide will answer any questions and make sure you see as much as possible.
River cruises- We have no information about this activity at present, but it’s worth mentioning that cruising the River Zambezi is always a thrill. You’ll have a lot of fun observing such species as hippo, crocodile, and elephant coming down to drink at the river. And don’t forget to pack your binocs, so you can look out for waterbirds.
Fishing- We’ll update this section as soon as we can. In the meantime, please get in touch with a member of the YZ team if you’re interested in being among the first to visit Lolebezi.
*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course..
